Candice Fender Films

For my Calligram project, I decided to go a different route than most. I am not a person to truly reveal myself, so I really had to dig into myself when I wrote the letter to myself. I didn't want to make a calligram where all the words are squeezed together, I wanted there to be gaps in between my words because I feel like there are still some gaps in me. I am still figuring out who I am because for a very long time I tried to suppress myself. Through everything my passion has stayed the same. I want to make films that are reminiscent of old Hollywood, but most of all, I want to save those films. They deserved to be loved and remembered. Those old films meant something to someone. The people in them meant something to someone, so I think that means they deserve saving and loving.     For the logo project I decided to do the word ambitious to describe myself. I do believe I am very ambitious, however, sometimes I am too ambitious. I get all these ideas and sometimes they do not work out as I would have hoped. Just like this logo design. On paper I thought it looked great but it just didn't transfer the way I would have wanted. I think the business cards actually look okay, but they still didn't transfer the way I would have liked. Same with the primitives. The people work well in my opinion, but it just doesn't work as a whole... So, I decided to redo the entire thing, but for me. I would love to own my own production company one day, and I want to name it Blu Box Productions. It is a reference to Breakfast at Tiffany's. That movie changed my life, it put me on my path, allowed me to develop a passion for film and storytelling. I also wrote about that in my admission essay, so in a way it also got me to Tampa.  This is my version of Pikachu created on Adobe Illustrator. I had to create him for a class assignment but I wanted to make him a bit different so I decided to add this gradient and purple cheeks to make him stand out. I actually really like it, it's not perfect but I can only improve. 

 I was tasked to create a canvas for the class using Dreamweaver; I decided to do Audrey Hepburn because she is my idol. I've always loved this photo of her because it is so simple but really highlights her beauty and grace. I decided to colorize the image for this project, taking some creative liberties in what colors I think she was wearing, and tried to match her lips and eye color to her own. Furthermore, I added the tiffany blue background to reference her iconic role as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's . My love of Audrey Hepburn continued to grow throughout my time in middle school. So, when I was in 8th grade, I decided to draw Audrey Hepburn for my art class. My art teachers in middle school inspired me to explore my creative passions and continued to push me forward as a creator. This picture has meant a lot to me over the years.
